- Permanent Part-Time opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team. 15.5 Hours per fortnight on the following shifts: Laundry (Thursday wk1 and wk2) 11am to 3pm, Housekeeping (Friday wk2) 7am to 2:30pm and Catering (Friday wk1 and wk2) 7am to 1pm.

About the role

The Support Worker – Cleaning & Laundry will support the delivery of a safe and clean-living environment for residents and work environment for staff in alignment with appropriate standards.

As a Support worker – Catering you will make a difference each and every day in providing healthy, hearty and delicious meals prepared by our Chef. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will support the Chef/ Chef Manager and your team to deliver a high-quality catering service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

- Routine and project cleaning tasks according to established cleaning schedules. Cleaning tasks include mopping and vacuuming floors, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, cobweb removal, window cleaning, waste management, restocking of supplies, collection of soiled linen and clothing as required

- Recording of the completion of cleaning schedule tasks

- Contributing to a safe, clean living environment for residents and work environment for staff.

Key Responsibilities - Catering

- Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook

- Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific as instructed by the Chef or Cook.

- Ensure environmental service standards are met and maintained, and the resident's living environment is safe and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

- Ensuring that all duties are worked in accordance with the National Food Safety Program at all times including completing food safety records and the prevention of cross contamination.

- Serve nutritious meals in well-presented manner and at the appropriate temperature

- Prepare trays and trolleys for each meal services as per the Calvary National Dining and Nutrition Guide.

About you

- Experience in cleaning tasks such as; mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, damp dusting, window and high cleaning

- Knowledge and experience in safe chemical handling (desirable)

- Current Food Handlers Certificate

- High standards in food preparation

- Knowledge of food safety regulations

- Completion of cleaning tasks according to infection control and occupational health and safety requirements including the safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals

- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
