The Role

We are on the lookout for experienced, lively, vibrant and eager Blast Crew to join our growing Platinum family, with roles available based out of our Clermont Hub, providing flexibility to work across various sites within the Bowen Basin.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, these positions can be offered on a permanent 7:7 even-time roster, or for those who prefer flexibility, casual work is also available. Travel options are flexible and will be discussed based on your location.

Your key responsibilities

- Dipping, priming, loading, stemming, and tie-in of blast patterns to achieve daily loading and blasting objectives safely and efficiently
- Ensure the safe use, storage, security, transport and handling of explosives in accordance with all statutory and company procedural requirements
- Operate ancillary equipment (stemming loader, etc)
- Work together with the entire blast team to meet daily operational targets

You will have

- Previous Blast Crew or Bench Hand equivalent experience in Coal or Quarries
- Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain one)
- QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (OR ability to obtain one)
- Experience in an open-cut mining environment
- RIIBLA201E – Support Shotfiring Operations (desirable)
- Strong team attitude, communication skills, and a commitment to safety
- Fit, healthy, and ready to do the hard yards
- The ability to pass pre-employment checks inclusive of medicals and national background checks
