Blast Crew

We are on the lookout for experienced, lively, vibrant and eagerBlast Crew to join our growing Platinum family, with permanent fulltime positions available within the Bowen basin.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, these positions will be offered on a 7:7 even time roster.

Your key responsibilities include:

- Dipping, priming, loading, stemming, and tie-in of blast patterns to achieve daily loading and blasting objectives safely and efficiently
- Ensure the safe, use, storage, security, transport and handling of explosives in accordance with all statutory and company procedural requirements
- Operate ancillary equipment (stemming loader, etc)
- Work together with the entire blast team to meet daily operational targets

You will have:

- Previous Blast Crew or Bench Hand equivalent experience
- Standard 11
- QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card OR ability to obtain one
- Experience in an open-cut mining environment
- RIIBLA201E – Support Shotfiring Operations (desirable)
- A can-do attitude and excellent communication skills
- Fit, healthy, and ready to do the hard yards
- The ability to pass a pre-employment checks inclusive of medicals and national background checks
