About the opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced General Manager to lead Mareeba Gardens Residential Aged Care with compassion and confidence. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead a committed team, influence the quality of care delivered to residents, and foster a workplace culture built on respect, integrity, and collaboration.
As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the home. From care standards and compliance to financial performance and team leadership. You will bring a hands‑on, people‑focused approach that inspires your staff and builds trust with residents, families, and the wider community.
What you will be doing
- Provide clear, values‑based leadership across all areas of operations and care.
- Empower and mentor your team to deliver the highest quality, person‑centred support.
- Maintain compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure long‑term sustainability.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and local partners.
- Promote Mareeba Gardens within the community as a place of belonging, dignity, and quality care.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to enhance the resident experience.
About you
You are a compassionate and capable leader who combines operational strength with a genuine commitment to resident wellbeing. You thrive in a team environment and take pride in creating a positive culture where staff feel supported and valued.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in aged care or a related health sector.
- Strong understanding of aged care governance, compliance, and funding models.
- Financial and business management experience, including budgeting and workforce planning.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on coaching and empowerment.
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, management, or business (desirable).
