About the organisation

This organisation is a well-established services business with a strong footprint. Procurement is a large and critical function, supporting both commercial performance and the delivery of services across the organisation.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Category Manager on a contract basis, initially for 6 months. The role can be full time or part time depending on the candidate. The focus will be on supplier relationship management, ensuring that suppliers are meeting obligations and operating in line with agreed expectations.

You’ll be responsible for monitoring supplier performance, managing key commercial relationships, and providing oversight across a broad category portfolio. The work involves a mix of hands-on engagement with suppliers and internal stakeholders, as well as strategic planning to strengthen commercial outcomes and improve supplier alignment with business objectives.

About you

You have a strong background in procurement, with experience in supplier relationship management and category management. You’re skilled at building trust and holding suppliers to account, with the ability to influence outcomes and ensure compliance. You’re comfortable working in environments where priorities can shift, and you bring both a structured approach and the flexibility to adapt as needed.

Ideally, you’ve operated in complex or customer-facing industries where robust supplier management has been critical. You’re confident working with data to track performance, negotiating with suppliers to resolve issues, and ensuring that procurement continues to add value across the business.
