Position Information
Cabramatta High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school in Southwest Sydney. The school has a total student population of over 1500, including an Intensive English Centre and Support Unit. 96% of students are from a language background other than English, with fifty-five cultural groups represented in the school. The school has a strong focus on academic excellence, collaborative practice, holistic education, wellbeing programs, innovative professional learning, and community partnerships.

Cabramatta demonstrates a school-wide commitment to explicit teaching strategies and inclusive teaching practices, as evidenced by structured lesson planning and the use of explicit teaching strategies.
Targeted interventions informed by data are developed in collaboration and partnership with students, staff, the community, and relevant agencies. These tools enable staff to differentiate instruction and support strategies aligned with individual learning needs. All programs are evaluated using internal and external data, driving whole-school initiatives such as writing improvement strategies and targeted interventions for academic, wellbeing and extra-curricular priorities. A systematic approach to ongoing professional learning enhances staff understanding of data concepts and interventions and builds evaluative capacity across the school.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach students with learning and support needs [secondary] and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs [secondary] in regular classes.
- Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively work in partnership with staff, families, and agencies in identifying and addressing the additional learning needs of students.
- Experience in designing and implementing professional learning support to enhance teacher capacity, ensuring that all students can access quality learning.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
