Occupational Therapist Position – Nulsen Therapy (Cannington)
Permanent Full-time or Part-time position. Part time (0.6-0.8).

You will be responsible for:
- Liaising with external stakeholders, such as other health professionals, NDIA-related entities, family members, educational staff, and community members to provide individualised support plans.
- Providing evidence-based Occupational therapy assessments and services, to participants in their home and community environments, based on their goals.
- Providing therapy services individually and as a member of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Providing accurate, timely and high-quality reports.
- Documentation of and reporting on intervention strategies.
- Providing support to senior clinical staff by contributing to initiatives related to areas such as clinical service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Recommendation of appropriate assistive technology in accordance with NDIS guidelines, based on participants goals and funding.
- Consultation through the provision of advice and information to participants, service users, families, and staff as appropriate.
- Supervision, support and mentoring of other staff.
- Work collaboratively with NDIS participants, families and supporting networks to improve effectiveness and drive positive outcomes.
- Work within the NDIS funding framework and meet Nulsen compliance and quality standards.
- This role will involve travelling to clients in varied locations.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or approved equivalent or limited/registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Graduates encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Clear understanding of the needs and rights of people living with disability, and of the concepts of social role valorisation, inclusion, active support, and quality of life.
- Demonstrated ability in assessment and clinical reasoning which supports planning, implementing, and evaluating Occupational Therapy services with the purpose of achieving the highest possible quality of life for people living with disability.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member with clients, and all other stakeholders, relating to participants. The ability to relate to participants and their families.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.

Speech Pathologist – Part-time
Join our team of dedicated, passionate allied health professionals. We are looking for a passionate Speech Pathologist to join our team part-time (2-3 days per week, 0.4-0.6).
Your job will see you out and about visiting our residents in their homes, with reporting and administration tasks at home or our office. You’ll work with the Clinical Lead - Speech Pathologist to develop skills to assess and assist adults with a disability, manage symptoms of dysphagia and build communication competence. You will collaborate with families, carers, and other therapists to support participants to achieve their goals and a good life, and you will be supported to prescribe and implement appropriate assistive technology in accordance with NDIS. You will also provide training to support workers to develop skills in mealtime support and as communication partners.

What you need:
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and a current practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to assessment and intervention for mealtime management and communication issues for individuals with developmental and/or acquired disabilities.
- Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to underpin good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, families, and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage your workload, including the ability to problem solve, prioritise, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Awareness and understanding of the National Disability Service Standards.
- Empathy and understanding of the needs and requirements of people with various disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
Other requirements;
- A full Australian driver’s licence
- A suitable, reliable vehicle
- NDIS Workers Screen Clearance
- Provide First Aid certificate (including CPR) with at least 6 months validity.
- Must hold Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident of Australia.
- Membership with SPA
Desirable:
- Experience in/knowledge of delivering training programs to a range of audiences including non-clinical staff.
- Experience in/knowledge of the prescription and implementation of low tech and high-tech alternative and augmentative communication systems.
- Experience working with people with complex communication needs.

About the Role
- Process all financial transactions following Nulsen’s accounting and trust procedures, including accurate and timely AR, AP, invoicing and GL entries.
- Maintain and reconcile Nulsen residents trust account, monitoring transactions and managing debtor accounts.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and activity reports to the Public Trustee, guardians, and family members. Provide effective and timely responses to incoming queries.
- Manage end to end processing of NDIS claims, including service bookings and payment requests.
- Prepare regular claims activity reports, identifying trends and suggesting improvements.
- Assist with reporting, audits and internal financial reconciliation.
- Support the Management Accountant with various ad hoc projects and financial analysis.
- Bookkeeping experience in financial processing, claim management or similar roles.
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency in financial systems, large client management systems, and NDIS platforms along with strong/advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with participants and stakeholders
- A proactive solution-focused approach with the ability to work independently
- Experience in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) sector, with a strong understanding of NDIS Pricing Guide and payment processes, is highly desirable.
