A Specialist Helpdesk / technician role is available for a 12-month contract in Port Melbourne, with the potential opportunity for an extension. The role requires NV1 clearance and involves working at secret and top-secret levels of security clearance.

The successful candidate will join the Melbourne, VIC helpdesk of a globally renowned private business, troubleshooting moderately complex MS Windows desktop systems or network issues, and assisting with basic computing delivery systems configuration management.

About the role:

- Troubleshooting moderately complex MS Windows desktop systems or network issues and escalating problems as appropriate
- Assisting with basic computing delivery systems configuration management
- Applying compliance of IT operations against industry standards
- Ensuring efficient and effective delivery of IT operations
- Escalating and coordinating the resolution of basic hardware or networking issues to vendors and suppliers
- Maintaining current documentation and aligning it with Policies and Procedures
- Participating in and responding to tasks as notified through the IT Service Desk

About you:

- Experienced in the support of networked PCs running Windows-based software applications
- At least 2-3 years of commercial experience in PC Support, with Windows 10 or 11
- Working knowledge and experience with PC hardware and peripheral equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Current NV1 Australian Government clearance
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Certificate Level qualifications in IT and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to undertake ad-hoc tasks out of hours and available to be rostered for on-call duties if required
- Driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel to remote sites if required

Please note that this role is ONLY open to Australian Citizens with NV1 clearance. A car and valid driver's license are required, with expenses reimbursed. The role will require travel to various sites, including Port Melbourne, Tullamarine, and the CBD.
