Your role
Reporting to a highly experienced Product Manager and expert in the field, this role will oversee the daily technical sales support needs of the Flextool business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing systems, processes, and programs to optimise and scale Flextool's technical capabilities, ensuring they meet both the current and future requirements of the business.
In this role you will be tasked with developing and delivering technical training materials and programs both online and in person to enhance the technical knowledge and capabilities of our dealers, contractors, rental companies, internal sales and customers service staff. Leveraging your product knowledge, you will assist with technical support publications and maintain a detailed product specifications database.
This role is ideally suited to candidates who have worked in equipment hire companies for construction, industrial, and DIY tools, tradies who have hands-on experience or those who have worked in retail sales with experience in supporting customers with technical product service. We also welcome applications from apprentice candidates who are enthusiastic about construction equipment and eager to develop their technical skills in this exciting role.
As a key member of our team, you'll have the ownership and support you need to succeed, both from your leader and colleagues of the close-knit Flextool team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day troubleshooting, diagnostic and technical support through direct contact with dealers, contractors, rental companies, internal sales and customers service staff
- Monitor product performance, maintain records and coordinate improvements for technical problems, service issues and emerging product concerns to support proactive resolution and continuous product improvement
- Establish and maintain relationships and regular contact with key technical personnel across our portfolio of brands and suppliers both domestically and internationally
- Provide support to our product development program through technical insight, adherence and compliance to safety and design standards, prototype development, infield testing and analysis

Skills & Experience
- Basic understanding and knowledge of diesel and petrol engines, electrical and hydraulic systems and mechanical trades or related fields, is desirable
- Ability to comprehend, interpret and analyse technical publications such as schematics, service and spare parts literature, technical bulletins and detailed product specifications
- Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Advanced presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to effectively present and influence at all levels
- Ability to safely operate a wide range of powered constructions equipment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and technology literacy
- Must hold a valid Australian driver’s license
- Willingness to travel within Australia and internationally, as required
