The Role

The Azure Infrastructure Engineer is a key technical role responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and cost-efficient enterprise cloud solutions. With a cloud-first, secure-by-design mindset, you'll lead automation initiatives, drive infrastructure as code practices, and help shape the future of our IT operations.

You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to modernize infrastructure, automate service delivery, and support critical operations across 7-Eleven's business—including corporate offices and store infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Azure operations across production and non-production environments, optimizing performance and cost.
- Build and maintain monitoring, metrics, and reporting systems to ensure observability and actionable alerting.
- Define and implement patch management strategies for VMs, AKS, and cloud-native workloads.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Bicep and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
- Drive modernisation through IT service transition plans , aligning people, process, and technology.
- Manage certificate lifecycle including issuance, renewal, and automated deployment.
- Design and implement scalable, secure Azure architectures aligned with business needs.
- Develop and implement Azure governance policies using Azure Policy and Management Groups.
- Drive automation and AI-based solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address production incidents and outages promptly.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for recurring infrastructure issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical workshops or architecture reviews.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure successful delivery of services and outcomes.
- Monitor and manage cloud operation costs , ensuring efficient resource usage.

To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Have:

- Proven experience in Windows and Linux systems administration
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory , DNS, and group policy fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with Azure platform services , including IaaS and PaaS components
- Experience with PowerShell , Python , or similar scripting languages for automation
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts as applied to infrastructure automation (desirable)
- Experience managing infrastructure for both corporate environments and retail locations is a plus
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders
