We're seeking an experienced Injury Management & Workers Compensation Specialist to join our National Safety Team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in reducing workplace injury risks, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and driving effective rehabilitation strategies when injuries occur.
Please note this is not a hybrid roll and does not allow for working from home, it requires 5 days per week in our offices located in Moorebank.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the coordination and administration of Workers Compensation insurance premiums (estimates and actuals), working closely with Payroll to ensure renewals and compliance are managed seamlessly.
- Lead and manage the injury management process across TMHA, case managing injuries and advising managers and branch-based Return-to-Work Coordinators.
- Act as the central liaison with insurers nationwide, ensuring claims are managed proactively and employees receive effective rehabilitation outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers compensation legislation across all Australian states and territories.
- Provide insights into injury trends across TMHA, coordinating rehabilitation activities and guiding strategies for safer workplaces.
- Support investigations into workplace injuries, identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.
- Administer TMHA workers compensation policies, including reporting to insurers and projecting claims and premium costs.
- Advise and guide management teams on compliance, claims strategies, and injury management best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Social Science, Occupational Physio, Ergonomics, HR, or related fields.
- 5+ years' experience in injury management, ideally within industrial sectors such as manufacturing or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of WHS and workers compensation legislation across Australia.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced computer literacy (Excel essential).
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Desirable: experience with safety initiatives, internal auditing, and workplace incident investigations.
