Are you an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to smarter, greener infrastructure projects? We have a fantastic role waiting for you Join our team and play a pivotal role in achieving our vision of delivering brilliant infrastructure solutions.

Based in Leiston, East Anglia (IP16), this role offers the chance to work on a major infrastructure project with a diverse scope of works. The scheme involves groundworks, civils, drainage, pavements, and building construction, incorporating structural concrete, steel elements, ductile iron pipework and racking systems. It’s a truly varied and engaging project that will challenge and reward in equal measure.

Responsibilities

- Produce weekly and monthly cost value reconciliations.

- Capture and allocate costs and liabilities.

- Maintain long-term relationships with internal and external teams.

- Manage opportunities and risks, identifying deviations from working practices.

- Assist in developing commercial tenders, offers, and contracts.

- Identify and escalate inappropriate costs.

- Record and track insurance claims.

- Maintain accurate contract data and records.

- Capturing and report direct labour payments; draft and award sub-contracts.

- Sharing best practices for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Ideally, you have a relevant degree in construction or commercial management and demonstrable experience in subcontractor management. A strong commercial awareness and a thorough understanding of NEC3 forms of contract—particularly ECC NEC3 Option C—are essential, along with sound knowledge of relevant construction and contract law. You should possess good technical construction knowledge and advanced Excel skills, as well as excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Previous client-facing experience is preferred, and you must be comfortable developing and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders at all levels. Good verbal and written communication skills are vital to effectively convey complex commercial information and support collaborative project delivery.

You will need the ability to prioritise your own workload and act collaboratively while inspiring others to do the same. The role requires a proactive approach in identifying and escalating issues promptly, showing resilience in the face of challenges, and taking personal responsibility for problem resolution
