About the School
Founded in 1955, Mount Lawley Senior High School (SHS) is a well‑established public high school located five kilometres from Perth CBD. Our school consists of three sub‑schools (Years 7–8, Years 9–10 and Years 11–12) and offers a breadth of curriculum choices, including a Gifted & Talent Languages program, a Specialist Visual & Performing Arts program, a Music program and an innovative Aboriginal Excellence Program. Role and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging visual arts instruction to students in Years 7–12.
- Develop and implement curriculum that satisfies WA Education Framework standards and the school’s Pedagogical Framework.
- Assess student learning, provide constructive feedback and support continuous improvement.
- Model best practice in professional knowledge, engagement and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with colleagues as part of a professional learning community and participate in peer observation activities.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered you must:
- Hold a valid teacher registration and relevant qualification in Australia.
- Have experience teaching visual arts in a secondary setting, ideally with a record of student achievement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the values of excellence, respect, perseverance and learning.
- Be able to engage students, lead creative projects and assess work to a high standard.
