Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

This is a 12 month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026

Applecross Senior High School (SHS) seeks a creative and inspiring Media and Design Teacher to join a dynamic Arts team. The successful applicant will deliver the Visual Arts curriculum across a broad spectrum of contexts including Media, Design and Visual Art, with the capacity to teach across Years 7 to 12. Outstanding skills in a range of 2D, 3D or time-based media are highly regarded. Professional industry experience is relevant to the role.

The Role

The successful applicant will:

- deliver the Visual Arts curriculum across Media, Design and Visual Art for Years 7–12
- show effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with the Arts team
- demonstrate strong classroom management, differentiate curriculum to meet student needs, and foster an active, positive learning environment
- support Gifted & Talented students and engage learners from diverse contexts
- potentially contribute to ATAR-related activities (experience preferred but not essential)

Eligibility

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education before you start
