Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) is Victoria’s newest public mental health service dedicated to the care of young people aged 12 to 25 experiencing complex mental health challenges.

The Opportunity:

The Health Information Services Manager will provide support and guidance in all health information related activities at Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

This role manages the Health Information Services (HIS) team which governs health information and supports the operational management of health information to administrative and clinical teams in community, inpatient, residential and several other specialist areas. The role will work with our multi-disciplinary workforce of skilled and dynamic clinicians and lived and Living experience (LLE) young people and carer experts.

About the Role:

The Health Information Services Manager is a part of the senior leadership team at PYMHWS and is responsible for managing the health information service (HIS) team. Ensuring the accurate collection, storage, analysis, reporting and protection of clinical information. The position will oversee the day-to-day functions of the HIS which encompass a wide range of processes such as scanning, freedom of information (FOI), data governance, compliance and auditing.

This position is also the appointed Privacy Officer for PYMHWS and provides advice and education on all aspects of privacy as well as coordinate the management of any privacy breaches.

What You'll Do:

- Promote evidence-based practice and the need to monitor health information management outcomes to support effective clinical care

- Develop and provide education and training to different stakeholders on health information requirements

- Assist and maintain high standards of privacy, confidentiality and other areas of Health Information governance

- Support the day-to-day activities of the Health Information Service

About You:

- ✔️ Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent

- ✔️ Eligible for membership of Health Information Management Association of Australia

- ✔️ Previous mental health, health information management experience

- ✔️ Enjoy working collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organisation
