Council of the City of Sydney, Australia Transgrid Full time

We’re on the lookout for a forward-thinking Asset Information Specialist who will be the go-to expert for asset data ensuring it’s accurate, reliable, and ready to support big decisions in maintenance, management, and investment.

This role is about more than just managing data. It’s about influencing change, coaching others, shaping processes, and making asset information work harder for everyone.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Keep our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system running at its best — maintaining, configuring, and continuously improving asset data.
- Working closely with project teams to capture requirements and configure the EAM to manage our growing asset base.
- Be the subject matter expert that guides Asset Managers, Coordinators, and cross-functional teams on all things asset information.
- Develop standards and procedures that make asset data consistent, reliable, and easy to use.
- Implement and embed maintenance programs, schedules, and inspection forms that keep assets in top shape.
- Partner with reporting teams to create tools that shine a light on asset performance and drive smarter decisions.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and people skills:

- 5+ years’ experience in asset management, maintenance, or design.
- Strong background in asset information systems - you know how to extract, transform, and load data with confidence.
- Sharp analytical skills and a knack for solving tricky data issues.
- Experience defining requirements or testing information systems.
- Clear and engaging communicator with the confidence to influence managers, engineers, and project teams.
- Attention to detail, great organisation skills, and the ability to juggle priorities.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset — you love working with others but can also run with things independently.

Why You’ll Love This Role

- Make a real impact on how assets are managed and maintained across the business.
- Be trusted as the expert voice for asset data and process improvements.
- Work across projects, maintenance, and strategy — no two days will look the same.
- Collaborate with passionate professionals who value innovation and continuous improvement.
