1. Extensive experience in the Lamination Industry

2. Experience in Resin Infusion processes & implementing advanced composite technologies

3. Extensive experience in operating a Gelcoater and/or Chopper Gun

4. Extensive experience in gelcoat repairs, sanding, buffing and polishing

5. Experience in all aspects of detailing and buffing

6. Excellent hand tool skills and machinery experience

7. Demonstrated ability to work to strict deadlines and meet targets

8. Flexibility to move within lamination areas and multi-task

9. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work well within a team environment

10. Strong eye for detail with a focus on accuracy and quality first time

11. Self-motivated, with a positive attitude, and pride in workmanship

About the Role

Riviera Australia is on the lookout for highly experienced, hard-working and loyal people to join our talented team as Boat Builders – Senior Composite Technicians. These roles will be based in Coomera, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The successful candidates will possess high attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Lamination: Open Moulding

1. Read and interpret drawings

2. Prepare moulds, including applying release agents

3. Gelcoat taping and assembling additional parts and preparing moulds

4. Laminate fiberglass components to a lamination schedule (flybridges, hardtops, hulls, decks, and small parts)

5. Perform in-line inspections to minimize quality issues, gel coat imperfections, and air voids

6. Install structural materials such as wood, aluminum flat bar, foam, and core mat

7. Handle hazardous chemicals such as catalyst, resin, gel coat, and structural adhesives and maintain the shed in a clean and tidy manner, including organizing tools and materials to avoid safety issues

Lamination: Closed Moulding

1. Read and interpret drawings

2. Mould care, prep, upkeep, and repair activities

3. Inspect, clean and assemble moulds

4. Laminate fiberglass components to a lamination schedule (flybridges, hardtops, and small parts)

5. Pack pre-cut digital kitted composite fabrics into moulds

6. Install vacuums and feed lines, and apply vacuum bags

7. De-mould parts

8. Perform in-line inspections to minimize quality issues, gel coat imperfections, and air voids
