About the Role

As a Youth Worker, you’ll support children and young people in care, helping them achieve their goals and thrive in safe, nurturing environments. You’ll be part of a passionate team delivering high-quality services aligned with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide daily care and plan activities aligned with individual care arrangements
- Role model positive behaviours and age-appropriate strategies
- Communicate effectively with staff and management regarding youth issues
- Safely transport young people in line with legal and safety guidelines
- Maintain accurate and legally compliant documentation
- Deliver culturally inclusive services, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

What You’ll Need

Essential

- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Certificate III in Community Services (or equivalent experience)
- Current driver’s licence (P2 minimum)
- Understanding of challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- 1+ year experience working with children, young people, and families
- Strong relationship-building and role modelling skills

Desirable

- Knowledge of Child Protection and Domestic & Family Violence legislation
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Checks Required

- National Police Certificate
- Working with Children (Blue Card)
- Child Safety and Personal History Screening (LCS) – if applicable
