About the Role

As a Chef at our care home, you will provide well‑presented and nutritious meals in a home‑like environment. Your passion for food along with your person‑first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents.

Duties

- Management of all food preparation and cooking activities

- Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met

- Ensure the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services

- Lead, coach and develop catering/kitchen staff

- Implement and maintain all infection control and food safety procedures

- Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation

Skills and Experience

- Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential

- Previous experience gained in a similar role ideally within the aged care industry

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Highly developed organisation and time management skills

- The ability to solve problems independently

- An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
