Overview

Commis Chef I Ringwood – We are looking for a motivated and passionate Full-Time Commis Chef to join the PLG team at The Coach in Ringwood. You’ll focus on basic food preparation tasks, support experienced chefs, and maintain a clean and organised kitchen. This opportunity is ideal for kitchen professionals ready to kickstart their career The Coach is our newly renovated dining and entertainment complex located in the heart of Ringwood. From the moment you walk into the venue, the warmth and friendliness make you already feel at home. A modern new Bistro specialising in a family friendly environment, offering an extensive a la carte menu whilst delivering quality customer service, catering to all. Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) operating as part of The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is proud to be recognised as a 2022, 2023 & 2024 Winner of The Australian Business Awards for Employer of Choice.

What will my duties include?

- Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards.
- Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks, including food assembly and plating.
- Ensure food and safety procedures are being followed.
- Maintaining control and leadership in the kitchen during service times in allocated section.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workstation.

What we are looking for

- Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Food Handlers Certificate.
- Experience working in a pub/bistro fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of fundamental cooking methods and recipe execution.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Full working rights in Australia.
