Position Information

The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. About the Role

A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas.

Essential Requirements

- Working with Children Check Clearance
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
- Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.

Gregory Hills Public School is a comprehensive K-6 primary school located in Gregory Hills NSW, in the Macarthur network, south-west of Sydney. The school was in its foundation year in 2023. Gregory Hills Public School is located in a new school build having been temporarily in a pop-up school. Our school motto “Connection Collaboration and Courage” forms the basis of our school culture and the values we adhere to.

Gregory Hills Public School has a current enrolment of 650 students, including 19 Aboriginal students. Our predicted enrolment in the future is 1000 students. The school will have 3 support unit classes in 2025. The school is an active partner of the 4C Transformative Learning organisation that empowers students, teachers and leaders with the capabilities to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
- Administration skills including knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with teachers and students.
- Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and/or design and technology; science.
