Cloncurry Shire Council is looking for an experienced professional to join our Infrastructure & Environment team.What We Offer:Competitive salary – QLD ( Stream B) Above Award – $104,000 + SuperannuationPersonal (Sick) LeaveCouncil HousingFive weeks annual leave, with 17.5% leave loading.A Council pool vehicle will be available for use on designated workdays.Opportunities for career growth and professional development.About the Role:Reporting to the Water & Sewer Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of the water and sewerage treatment plants and associated infrastructure, including sites in Dajarra and Kajabbi.Key Responsibilities:Operate and maintain water and sewerage treatment plants, pumps, and equipment.Record and report on flow meters, electric meters, and daily testingCollect water and wastewater samples, calibrate dosing pumps, and adjust dosing rates.Monitor chemical usage and carry out stocktakes.Coordinate with contractors and support infrastructure maintenanceParticipate in weekend work as rostered.What You’ll Bring:Certificate III in Water Treatment Plant Operations (mandatory)Minimum 5 years of relevant experienceCurrent "C" Class driver’s licenceConstruction White Card (or willing to obtain)Confined Spaces, Chlorine Safety, and Forklift certifications (or willingness to obtain)Strong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Certificate IV in Water Treatment Plant Operations (highly desirable).For a more detailed job outline, please see the attached Position Description.
