Overview

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Karratha workshop team. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, Trades Assistants, and Apprentices. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring all workshop activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

MINPROVISE is a total solutions provider offering specialist services and products supporting the mining, oil & gas, infrastructure & construction industries. This includes the supply of onsite maintenance & repairs, shutdowns, project services, access services, fabrication, offsite repairs, remedial services and mineral processing equipment & products. Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Workshop Supervisor with the daily planning, scheduling, and coordination of workshop activities.
- Perform fabrication and dimensional checks as required.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and leadership to Boilermakers, Fitters, TAs, and Apprentices.
- Ensure compliance with:

- ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

- ISO 3834 Welding Quality Requirements

- AS 5131 Structural Steel Fabrication Standards

- Take accountability for maintaining MINPROVISE's ISO 9001 certification within workshop operations.
- Monitor work output to ensure quality standards and client requirements are met.
- Drive a positive safety culture and ensure strict adherence to HSEQ procedures.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Sheet Metal Worker (essential).
- Proven experience in heavy and light fabrication (essential).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a workshop or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 3834, and AS 5131 requirements.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train, support and develop apprentices and junior team members.

Highly Regarded (Desirable)

- Line Boring experience
- Heavy Mobile Equipment (GET) maintenance
- Pressure piping experience
- Aluminium fabrication experience
