Job Title

Clinical Support Worker (Eden Scheduled Care)

The closing date is 22 October 2025.

The Day Units are nurse-led, highly skilled clinical sites, aimed to prevent patient admission to hospital and to facilitate discharge from hospital.

To work under the direction of qualified staff to deliver care to patients attending for a variety of treatments within the Unit. To provide advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues and maintain associated records both written and electronic.

The essential criteria for this role include the requirement to have a care certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake this. For further information please see the attached Care Certificate document.

Main duties of the job

- to support qualified staff with prioritising referrals and managing the caseload
- to support in the delivery of scheduled care according to work rota
- to assess, deliver and evaluate delegated nursing treatments under the direction of qualified staff
- to actively participate in training, competency achievement and delivery of new nursing interventions to further develop the unit
- to achieve competency in extended roles to include venepuncture, catheterisation (male/female and suprapubic), cannulation and venesection
- to perform NEWS2 observations for all patients escalating to qualified staff as per NCIC Trust Policy
- to support patients with activities of daily living to promote independence as much as possible
- to support with stock orders, storage of equipment, maintenance of medical devices and safe storage of all supplies

Person Specification

Qualifications

- Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; -Theoretical knowledge -Experience of a range of care and related procedures -clinical observations
- National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures
- Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
- Undertaken relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers

Knowledge & Experience

- Experience of working in health or social care.
- Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating changes or findings
- Knowledge of Safeguarding.
- Awareness of GDPR and the need for confidentiality
- Understanding of work related boundaries
- Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation
- Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective team work
- Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
- Experience of working in the Trust previously
- Evidence of understanding of Trust business

- Excellent interpersonal, communication and active listening skills.
