The Chief Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in driving engagement, growth, and strategic alignment across VTIC's partner and member base. This strategic leadership position is responsible for delivering high-impact programs that strengthen industry connectivity, enhance member value, and position VTIC as the leading voice for Victoria's visitor economy.
Key performance objectives for the role include:
- Drive Strategic Partnership and Membership Growth
- Lead the development of a long-term partnership and membership strategy that aligns with VTIC's advocacy agenda and sector development priorities, focusing on value proposition, retention, and expansion across diverse industry segments. - Shape VTIC's Signature Engagement Platforms
- Provide strategic oversight of VTIC's annual event portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and positioning events as key vehicles for thought leadership, policy influence, member engagement and industry development. - Elevate Partners and Member Experience and Influence
- Design and implement high-impact engagement strategies that deepen member relationships, harness feedback for continuous improvement, and position VTIC as a valuable partner to industry. - Forge High-Level Strategic Partnerships
- Cultivate and manage strategic alliances with industry leaders, and sponsors to amplify VTIC's influence, enhance member value, and unlock new opportunities for collaboration. - Leverage Data for Strategic Decision-Making
- Oversee the strategic use of CRM systems and member analytics to inform organisational priorities, identify emerging trends, and support evidence-based decision making and engagement. - Ensure Strategic Resource Stewardship
- Provide leadership in financial planning and resource allocation for member programs and events, ensuring alignment with VTIC's strategic objectives and long-term sustainability. - Lead Integrated Communications Strategy
- Partner with marketing and communications teams to develop strategic campaigns that elevate VTIC's brand, promote member initiatives, and drive engagement across digital and traditional platforms. - Champion VTIC's Vision and Voice
- Represent VTIC at high-level industry forums and events, serving as a strategic ambassador for the organisation and advancing its mission to strengthen Victoria's visitor economy. - Provide Strategic insight to VTIC's Accreditation Program to Strengthen Member Value and Industry Standards
- Provide strategic insight to VTIC's accreditation program, ensuring it is effectively integrated with the broader membership offering. Champion alignment between accreditation and member benefits to reinforce industry standards, promote best practice, and elevate the reputation and competitiveness of Victoria's visitor economy. - Lead and Inspire a High-Performing Team
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to the broader Partnership, Membership and Industry Engagement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability to deliver on VTIC's strategic goals.
Key Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in partnership/ membership management, stakeholder engagement, and event leadership within the tourism, events, hospitality or association sectors.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to align programs with broader organisational goals.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and teams effectively.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, event platforms, and data-driven decision-making.
- Understanding of Victoria's visitor economy and tourism industry dynamics.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Tourism, Event Management, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a senior membership or business development role.
- Leadership experience in a member-based organisation or tourism industry body preferred.
