AISNSW is seeking an experienced educator with deep expertise in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education to join our team.
Who we are
AISNSW is the peak body supporting and representing over 400 independent schools in NSW and provides a range of services across NSW and ACT. We believe in the excellence that comes with choice, diversity and independence in education. AISNSW exists to serve and champion independent schools.
Responsibilities
- Provide culturally responsive advice and support to Independent schools across NSW.
- Design and deliver professional learning, conferences and school-based consultancies.
- Contribute to the Waratah Project, a culturally responsive framework that supports schools to improve student outcomes and strengthen family and community connections.
- Collaborate across AISNSW to support initiatives in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with schools, communities and partner organisations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education.
- Strong and reciprocal connections with Aboriginal Communities and/or agencies/organisations.
- Skilled in designing and delivering professional learning.
- High-level project management, organisational and communication skills.
- Culturally responsive ways of working, grounded in respect, reflection and deep listening.
Requirements
- Full-time or part-time availability, Sydney-based role
- Capacity to travel to regional schools in NSW overnight
- Driver’s licence
- Current Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain the same

This is a two-year fixed term role, reporting to the Associate Chief Executive: Compliance, Policy and Member Engagement.
