Division: Independent Public School - North Metropolitan Education Region
Salary: Level 1 - SPS Y2, $90,977 - $146,769 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE) position commencing 19 January 2026

The Role
Ashdale Secondary College (SC) is seeking an innovative and dynamic School Psychologist to join the team. In this role you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be able to collaborate and work effectively with our large Student Services team, students, and parents.
The focus of the College is on student engagement and wellbeing so that all students feel valued at all times. The College measures its effectiveness through academic achievement and the character of our students, and the integral part these achievements play in the wider community. A partnership founded on strong relationships between students, teachers, parents and the community is the enduring platform upon which the College is built.
Students at Ashdale SC are equipped with new blends of skills and knowledge necessary to achieve their individual potential throughout their lives. They develop the capabilities necessary for healthy living and lifelong learning. They build social and emotional resilience, supported by clear, ethical and effective pastoral care. This ensures students are given opportunities to develop the confidence they need to play an active part in the life of their school, family, community and nation while being successfully prepared for future transitions from home to school to work or further study.
The successful applicant will ideally collaborate closely with school leadership and the Student Services team. You will join a community of motivated and innovative educators committed to ensuring the wellbeing and educational outcomes of students.
The successful applicant should provide specialist psychological support to assess, case‑formulate, develop hypotheses, recommend targets for intervention, and guide planning and implementation to address the needs of individual students, groups and the whole school. Services will be provided in the areas of adolescent mental health, behaviour and engagement, wellbeing for learning, emergency incident management, as well as professional learning for college staff, parents and caregivers.
You will be an adaptable, resilient and resourceful professional, able to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders and consult widely. You should work effectively as both part of a team and independently, proactively when required, and contribute to well‑established college priorities such as the Learning Support Team, Attendance Team and Student Services case‑management processes.
