Weare seeking a part-time Prescription Clerk to join our friendly team, to answer the telephone, to greet patientsface to face and assist patients in accessing the appropriate service orrelevant healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

You will be responsible for processing prescription requests and answering enquiries from staff and patients.

Providingadministrative assistance to thepractice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and othervisitors, either in person or via the telephone. You will play a key role inthe continued development of MMP, working closely with the practice team inimplementing systems aligned to the practices values and purpose, especiallyduring this exciting time of expansion due to the continued growth ofCambourne.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

REPORTS TO: Patient Services Supervisor

DAYS/HOURS: Monday to Friday (25 hours)

They will be working alongside the Clinical Pharmacist team and liaising with Doctors, Nurses and other staff or organisations including pharmacies on a regular basis.

The post-holder will also be managing the expectations of patients and/or their carers/guardians in a professional and polite manner to provide a high standard of patient focused service.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

Managing repeat prescription requests received via paper-form, email and electronically ensuring safe and efficient responses to patient medication requirements.

Dealing with patients face-to-face, by telephone or via email in a polite professional manner at all times.

Work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist team, acting upon any relevant prescribing changes as instructed to assist with cost effective prescribing, QOF compliance and prescribing targets.

Data entry into patient records ensuring patient confidentiality is followed at all times.

Liaising with clinical team and pharmacies.

Making of relevant appointments with patients via telephone or AccuRx messaging via SystmOne.

Dealing with clerical matters such as changes of patient details, EPS nominations, etc. as required.

Checking and completion of tasks as appropriate.

Maintain accurate records.

Other responsibilities:

Lunchtime reception cover for Care Navigators (arranged daily if needed)

- Experience in using MS Packages and databases
- Experience of prescription
- To have worked within a practice and/or health service settings including review dates, etc.
- Experience in using GP Software e.g. SystmOne, AccuRx
