Position Title: Cleaner

Location: Northam Primary School (PS), Northam

Term: Commencing Term 1, 2026 (Permanent, Part‑time 0.25 FTE)

Overview

Northam Primary School serves over 300 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, drawn from local town and surrounding rural areas. The school provides a safe and inclusive environment where strong relationships with students, families and the community are valued. The Role

As a cleaner, you will be responsible for internal cleaning duties such as maintaining carpets and hard‑floor surfaces, toilets, furniture, fittings, windows, dusting, rubbish removal and other general cleaning tasks. External duties include cleaning verandas, covered areas, drinking troughs, windows, cobwebs and other general cleaning duties. During vacation periods you will also carry out stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets and pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas.

You should have good attention to detail, be organised, honest, reliable, punctual and possess excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods, and practices. You should be able to work well individually and as part of a team to ensure a clean and safe school environment.

Qualifications & Eligibility

- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.

- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
