Clinical Research Assistant – Chermside

Icon Group | Research at Icon Group, Chermside, Brisbane – Full Time

We are looking for a Clinical Research Assistant to support on-site research operations and clinical trials at our Icon Cancer Centre Chermside, with a strong focus on Phase 1 Medical Oncology. This is a full-time role (Monday – Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) within Icon Research’s growing private cancer trials program.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect, process and dispatch samples and materials required by clinical research protocols; prepare and manage clinical trial laboratory kits and samples
- Prepare patient visit requirements, assist in appointment scheduling and liaise with external hospitals for tissue requirements or medical information
- Provide support to the research staff in relation to clinical trial administration tasks
- Support investigators by ensuring trial documentation is prepared and ready for review/sign-off
- Manage investigator site files and essential documents as per GCP
- Facilitate accurate collection of source data that is attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and complete
- Work with monitors for ongoing site monitoring and facilitate remote visits
- Occasionally travel between Icon clinics as needed to support cross-clinic research activity

About You

We are seeking passionate individuals who can manage their workload and build professional relationships with various healthcare professionals at the assigned clinic. You should be able to independently solve problems and collaborate effectively within a team. A vision and passion to support our clinical trials portfolio and inspire more Icon staff to participate in clinical research are key to success. Special consideration will be given to experience in pathology and laboratory processing.

Key Requirements

- Relevant undergraduate degree in health sciences, nursing or allied health, or currently working towards one of these qualifications
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office suite and database management
- Experience in pathology / laboratory processing is beneficial but not mandatory
