About the position

The Trainee Certificate III in Library andInformation Services position will work as part of both theToowoomba Regional Local History Library team and the ToowoombaCity Library Team to deliver customer service and generalmaintenance of the library collections. The trainee will undertakerelevant study and assignment work in a Certificate III in Library& Information Services.

This position will work under directsupervision.

- Training wage rates are$322.00 - $836.00 per week (depending on your education leveland years out of school), plus 17.5% annual leave loading andup to 12.65% superannuation.

- This is a TemporaryFull time position for 18 months.

How to be successful in this position - SuccessCriteria

- Hold the mandatoryqualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined underthe 'Success Criteria' in the Position Description .
- Ability to commit tothe full traineeship program and competently complete coursework and assessment required to complete the Certificate IIIwithin specified timeframes.
- Possess an interest inpursuing a career within the library field, in particular localhistory.
- Ability to accuratelyfollow directions in a timely manner.
- Ability to completedaily tasks neatly and correctly using computer applicationssuch as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn anduse new digital programs and applications.
- Basic written and oralcommunication and numeracy skills.
- Ability to providequality customer service including the provision of accurateand timely advice in a helpful and supportivemanner.
- Understanding of andcommitment to Council’s Organisational Value andBehaviour of Teamwork.
