About the position

The Trainee Certificate III in Library and
Information Services position will work as part of both the
Toowoomba Regional Local History Library team and the Toowoomba
City Library Team to deliver customer service and general
maintenance of the library collections. The trainee will undertake
relevant study and assignment work in a Certificate III in Library
& Information Services.

This position will work under direct
supervision.

  • Training wage rates are
    $ $836.00 per week (depending on your education level
    and years out of school), plus 17.5% annual leave loading and
    up to 12.65% superannuation.

    Full time position for 18 months.

How to be successful in this position - Success
Criteria

  1. Hold the mandatory
    qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under
    the 'Success Criteria' in the
    Position Description.
  2. Ability to commit to
    the full traineeship program and competently complete course
    work and assessment required to complete the Certificate III
    within specified timeframes.
  3. Possess an interest in
    pursuing a career within the library field, in particular local
    history.
  4. Ability to accurately
    follow directions in a timely manner.
  5. Ability to complete
    daily tasks neatly and correctly using computer applications
    such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Ability to learn and
    use new digital programs and applications.
  7. Basic written and oral
    communication and numeracy skills.
  8. Ability to provide
    quality customer service including the provision of accurate
    and timely advice in a helpful and supportive
    manner.
  9. Understanding of and
    commitment to Council's Organisational Value and
    Behaviour of Teamwork.
