Newly created role for a Project Manager to lead a Website and CMS replacement.
This Sydney CBD based client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a full end-to-end website and CMS replacement project. This is a high-visibility role that will modernise their digital presence, improve customer experience, and deliver a robust, scalable content management solution for the organisation.
You will oversee the discovery, design, development, testing, migration, and launch phases, working closely with internal stakeholders, content teams, developers, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for the website and CMS replacement initiative.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners (UX/UI, developers, content creators, SEO specialists, vendors).
- Drive requirements gathering, including user needs, content structure, technical integrations, and workflow design.
- Manage change, communications, and training for staff adopting the new CMS.
- Ensure high-quality delivery across UX, accessibility, SEO, performance, security, and governance.
- Oversee content migration strategy and execution.
- Provide regular project reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.
Skills & Experience
- 3-7+ years' experience in digital or IT project management.
- Proven experience leading website redevelopment and CMS implementation projects (e.g., Sitecore, Adobe, Drupal, WordPress, Umbraco, Kentico).
- Strong understanding of web technologies, UX principles, and modern digital standards.
- Experience working with agencies, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, negotiation, and expectation management.
- Ability to balance technical requirements with user experience and content needs.
- Strong documentation, planning, and risk management skillset.
- Certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or Agile/Scrum (desirable).
The role will be starting as a 12-month fixed term contract and will be 5 days in office.
