The Opportunity

We are looking for a results-driven Regional HSE Specialist to support the safe and compliant operation of our sites across the Bowen Basin and Gailee Basin QLD. In this role, you will provide hands-on support, coaching, and leadership to operational teams to ensure alignment with our SHMS, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies, standards, and procedures across the region.

- Lead investigations of incidents and support root cause analysis.

- Provide strategic HSE support to regional leadership and operational sites.

- Coach frontline leaders and personnel to embed a proactive safety culture.

- Deliver HSE training, audits, and assessments.

- Ensure compliance with Federal and State, Regulations and Standards.

- Drive safety performance through data analysis, training, and employee engagement.

- Facilitate environmental reporting and regulatory submissions.

- Collaborate with site leaders on emergency preparedness and response planning.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent our business in HSE forums when required.

- Manage health-related matters, including work and non-work-related injuries, ensuring appropriate support, reporting, and rehabilitation processes are followed

What You Bring

- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety (preferred)

- Experience in a mid level or senior HSE role, ideally within explosives and dangerous goods (preferred)

- Strong working knowledge of relevant Health, Safety, Environment, Explosive and Dangerous Goods Regulations

- Strong working knowledge with the implementation and management of ISO 9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 (preferred)

- Demonstrated success influencing HSE culture and improving performance across multiple sites

- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills

- Certification in HSE (e.g. ISO Lead Auditor, Training and Assessment) (preferred)

- Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator Accreditation

- Relevant Security Clearance

- Ability and willingness to travel frequently
