[Urgent] Animal Support Officer

About the position

Council’s Safer Communities Department is looking for an Animal Support Officer who will be responsible for promoting responsible pet ownership, including maintaining Council’s animal registration database and the collection of lost/stray animals in accordance with Council Policies and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

- Actively promote domestic animal registration and compulsory desexing through community education

- Undertake the collection of lost/stray animals and provide information to the public on domestic animal related matters

- Initiate appropriate enforcement measures including the issuing of infringements and preparation of briefs of evidence

About you

- You will have excellent animal handling skills and the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation

- A high level of customer service delivery, including the ability to deal with issues which maybe complex in nature

- Certificate IV in Animal Regulation, Management and Government or relevant experience in Animal Registration/Management

- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one

- Current Victorian Drivers Licence

This position is aBand 5 currently remunerated at$82,567.33 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
