- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent qualification, with relevant experience in a similar role
- Strong working knowledge and practical application of the Companion Animals Act 1998, Public Spaces and (Unattended Property) Act 2021and animal welfare standards
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict and engage effectively with community members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in safely handling dogs, including aggressive animals, and cats in both shelter environments and public settings.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing reports and documentation.
- Experience in designing and delivering education programs related to companion animal management.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with minimal supervision.
- Understanding and commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
- Completion of studies in Companion Animal Management, including training in animal controlbehaviour, and breed identification
- Experience in AnimalShelter operations, and management of the Companion Animal Register
- Ability to manage livestock
- Authorised micro-chip implanter
