The Employer:
Join a family-owned and operated cropping business located near Nyngan, NSW. This operation has recently expanded by purchasing a neighbouring property, creating the need for an Assistant Farm Manager. The business encompasses 22,000 acres across two properties, along with an additional 6,000-acre lease block within 50 kilometres. The operation features a strong dryland cropping and hay program that spans 17,000 acres, producing high-quality Oaten Hay, Wheat, and Barley.
While this role primarily focuses on cropping and developing new country, assisting with the business's small cattle enterprise will also be required during key annual events.
The team includes three dedicated staff members. All machinery is modest yet well-maintained, featuring reliable and efficient equipment such as a D8 Dozer, wheel loader, grader, two nitro sprayers, various tractors, ploughs, disc chains, hay equipment, air seeders and headers.
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate to step into an assistant management position within the expanding operation. Your responsibilities will encompass machinery operation, managing staff, generalised cropping agronomy, maintaining equipment, and controlling fertiliser and seed applications.
Experience in all aspects of dryland cropping is essential, and a mechanical background will be considered a significant advantage.

The Ideal Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will be highly self-motivated, loyal, and want to see the property succeed like it's your own. Our clients appreciate staff members who show initiative and use common sense.
Advantageous skills and experience:
- A solid mechanical aptitude
- Previous earthworks and hay-making machinery experience
- Owns their own tools
- Truck license
The Offer:
The successful candidate will be offered a generous remuneration package including a healthy salary, accommodation, a work vehicle, and inclusions (power and internet). The accommodation provided will suit singles or couples.
The township of Nyngan is 90 kilometres from the property. This service centre provides all the necessities, such as medical services, grocers, and banking. Dubbo is a further 2-hour drive and is considered one of the largest rural service centres in New South Wales. Work opportunities are on offer for partners.
