Support Worker | Trauma-Informed Dementia Care | Goonellabah, NSW
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Support Workers to provide specialised, one-on-one care for a client in Goonellabah, NSW. This is a truly rewarding role for an experienced professional looking to make a significant difference in a client's life.
Our client requires consistent support with daily living, community engagement and emotional regulation within a safe, trauma-informed environment.
Your key responsibilities will be:

* Consistently applying principles of Trauma-Informed Care to build trust, promote safety and prevent re-traumatisation.
* Provide person-centred support tailored to the challenges of dementia, including assisting with memory, routine and communication.
* Actively support and motivate the client to engage in safe, low-stress community outings and activities in Goonellabah and the surrounding Lismore area.
*Provide respectful, dignified assistance with all activities of daily living (showering, dressing, grooming, and hygiene).
*Maintain accurate, timely, and objective progress notes and incident reports.
*Utilise effective communication and de-escalation strategies during periods of distress.

Essential Criteria:
1. Minimum 1 year experience supporting clients with complex needs and/or dementia.
2. Demonstrated understanding and experience in applying Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) principles.
3. Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability) or equivalent.
4. Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
5. Current Australian Driver’s License and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
6. Successful Police Check/NDIS Worker Screening Check.
