About the role
The successful applicant will be dynamic, passionate, and committed to working with children, providing a rich and rewarding educational experience, and demonstrating a commitment to Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of children.
The primary objective of the Education Support role is to work collaboratively with teaching staff to enhance the learning outcomes of students. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to work collaboratively with children with complex needs and will embrace a collegial, team-based approach to supporting teaching and learning at St Anthony's.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
1. Certificate IV in Education Support or Special Needs and previous primary school experience in this role.
2. Understanding of NCCD funding model is an advantage.
3. Current 'Police and Working With Children Check'.
4. Names and contact details of at least 3 referees.

2. Ability to create and maintain a supportive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
3. Respond to all students in the classroom in a warm and encouraging manner and build collaborative relationships.
4. Familiarity with and compliance to the school's child-safe policy, standards, and code of conduct.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
6. Engage in a professional and collegial manner with colleagues, parents/carers, and the community.
7. Capacity to work effectively as a member of staff and acquire new skills.
8. Capacity to respond pastorally to human and interpersonal issues.
9. Ability to maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality.
Duties include:
1. Work in partnership with the teacher to support student learning and implement associated goals as identified in the Personalised Learning Plan.
2. Promote self-esteem and assist with student social interactions by teaching them social skills.
3. Make appropriate adjustments to learning materials or the environment to meet the needs of the student.
4. Collect data for analysis by the teacher and/or the Student Support Group.
5. Maintain effective communication with teacher, parents, and relevant Leadership Personnel on student performance.
6. Provide relevant and timely feedback to the student during learning sessions.
7. Support collegiate learning by sharing learnings with colleagues.
8. Assist with support and supervision on excursions, camps, and other extracurricular activities.
