Quality Manager

Our client is an established Defence Engineering company with extensive contracts across Australia and overseas. They are a world leader in design and build; the capabilities are proven world class and align with AS9110 accreditation. The position requires an experienced QA Manager, with experience in complex production activities, who will work alongside and leading a highly motivated QA team. Working with the team and suppliers, they are responsible for implementing quality systems to give the end user the assurances the capabilities they are delivering will have the designed effect on the battlefield.
The role:
- Oversee Quality Management processes
- Certification and compliance with AS9110
- Manage Quality Audit Plans and Schedules - internal and external
- Investigate and conduct supplier audits
- Lead a team of Quality Co-ordinators
- Implement QA standards
- Manage Transitions plans and gaining certification
- Business Improvement Program - continual improvement of QMS
- Monitor project activities for compliance and identify improvements
Experience Required:
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Lead Auditing
- Must have a strategic leadership experience
- Formal qualifications in QA and Auditing
- Align QA with operational requirements
- Experience with management of QA systems and processes
- Heavy maintenance experience would be beneficial
- Familiarity with International QA Standards
- Understanding of the commercial relationships relating to QA
- Pragmatic approach top QMS and working with key stakeholders
- Applicants MUST be an Australian Citizen to apply for ADF clearances
This is a key role within the organisation - applicants must be well presented and have excellent communication skills. Candidate will require to undergo Police History checks as well as gaining an AGSVA issued security clearance. Must be prepared to travel interstate if required. The role is complex; the role requires a Quality Assurance Manager to work with production teams to integrating quality governance across the business. The Candidate must prove they can build a quality functional capability, leading and development that team, and promoting a proactive quality culture, and influence cross-functional teams to take ownership of quality outcomes, candidates without that experience will not make the shortlist.
