Our new senior engineer will design, deploy and maintain our cloud hosting infrastructure in our 3 east coast data center locations. Our cloud infrastructure provides Infrastructure as a Service, Backup/DR as a Service, multi-site WAN across a number of technologies, standard internet connectivity and IP telephony services. Working with our Infrastructure Services team, this role will have primary responsibility for:

- Design, deploy and maintain our IaaS infrastructure including virtualisation (VMWare), enterprise storage, switching (storage & network) and physical DC infrastructure in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
- Manage and improve our BaaS/DRaaS service that is built upon a core stack of Veeam products combined with local enterprise storage and third party storage options including Amazon S3/Glacier and Wasabi.
- Implement and deploy edge security appliances including VPN endpoints and NextGen firewalls.
- Monitoring and optimising the performance of the IaaS, BaaS and DRaaS platforms.
- Escalation point for internal teams to troubleshoot issues related to these platforms.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be involved in:

- Network design and management of our core multi vendor network providing services including interstate backhaul, layer 2 multi-site connectivity, internet exchange and IP transit connectivity, standard internet services, private connectivity to public cloud including AWS and Azure and IP telephony services.
- Design and deployment of customer network services including internet and multi-site connectivity (layer 2 or VPN).
- Configuration and deployment of Wireless LAN solutions (generally Ubiquiti)
- Management and monitoring of Session Border Controllers for IP telephony.

You will have at least 5 years of experience with an MSP, or in an equivalent role supporting multiple networks every day. And you must be based in Brisbane to work onsite with our clients and our infrastructure.

We know that the work and skillset outlined above is varied, and we are keen to be part of your journey to acquire the skills to become a true infrastructure master. At a minimum we’re looking for someone with experience with:

- VMware virtualisation.
- Veeam product stack.
- Enterprise storage. We use Pure Storage but direct experience with this is not a pre-requisite.
- NextGen firewalls. We use Palo Alto and we would prefer you have experience with these, but again, this is not a pre-requisite.
- General LAN / WAN networking. Standard router and switch configuration, VPN’s.

This role is pivotal to the successful operation of our internal core infrastructure and our clients’. You will work both internally and with our clients so your written and verbal communication skills will be paramount to your success. Additionally, you are passionate about client service and motivated to stay up to date with current and new technologies. This is not an entry level position, and you must have experience supporting a complex network infrastructure. You must demonstrate that you can quickly learn new technologies and procedures and work autonomously on a wide variety of technologies.
