The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Building Surveyor to join to help our clients achieve safe and compliant buildings. This role can be based in Victoria or Tasmania.
- Lead with expertise: Provide sound technical guidance and professional support to our valued clients and provide mentorship to the broader team.
- Grow your impact: Build and nurture your own client base with the backing of a collaborative team.
- Drive business growth: Contribute to the strategic development of our Building Surveying services.
- Deliver excellence: Conduct regulatory assessments across commercial and residential projects.
- Shape early-stage compliance: Provide insights during concept, schematic, and design development phases.
- Ensure compliance: Review documentation against the Building Code of Australia, Act, and Regulations.
- Certify with confidence: Prepare Certificates of Likely Compliance, Occupancy Permits, and related documentation.
- Manage projects end-to-end: Oversee multiple projects, delegating effectively and ensuring quality outcomes.
- Mentor and inspire: Support the growth and development of junior staff through coaching and leadership.
- Collaborate and communicate: Engage with stakeholders and provide clear, expert advice.
- Innovate and improve: Identify opportunities for efficiency and lead initiatives to enhance our services.
- Be hands-on: Attend site inspections and design meetings to ensure compliance and quality.
What you bring
- Licensed Building Surveyor Unlimited (or ability to obtain via Mutual Recognition).
- 10+ years’ experience preferred — but open to varying levels of expertise.
- Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying (Degree or Postgraduate).
- Deep knowledge of the Building Act, Regulations, and BCA.
- Business development mindset with a passion for client relationships.
- Strong communication and writing skills across all levels.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organisation.
- Team player who thrives both independently and collaboratively.
- Tech-savvy and confident using digital tools.
- Current driver’s licence required.
