Having been a pivotal spot in the sixties and seventies as the House of Merivale (John and Merivale Hemmes’ fashion retail space with eateries and an espresso bar), you get the sense that Angel Hotel has seen many good times.

The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Sous Chef to head up the kitchen at The Angel pub in the CBD. This role is suitable for someone who is happy working autonomously and has good accountability for following best kitchen practices and maintaining product quality. You will work alongside an executive chef on menu creation and execute a small pub classics menu, popular with the corporate lunch and after-work crowd.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following:

- 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role in a pub or casual dining restaurant.
- Experience running a small kitchen and working closely with the front of house team.
- Driven to execute a consistent food offering and maintain kitchen standards.
- A good understanding of WH&S and allergens.
- High level of organisation and the ability to adapt in a busy work environment.
