Legal Data Analyst

Overview

This Northern Virginia-based finance firm is seeking a Legal Data Analyst to join its growing team. In this unique role, you’ll combine your legal background and analytical mindset to evaluate complex case data, monitor large-scale litigation documents, and support high-value financial assessments. This is a unique role which requires legal knowledge and expert-level Excel skills. Key Responsibilities

- Compile and analyze law firm case data for review purposes.
- Organize and clean large datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency across legal files.
- Monitor developments in major litigation cases and other mass torts proceedings, maintaining updated tracking tools and reports.
- Communicate with external legal contacts to obtain updates and verify case information.
- Conduct targeted docket research and summarize key findings for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with due diligence efforts by reviewing case files and identifying patterns, trends, and risk factors.
- Evaluate settlement and payment data to assess case performance and outcomes.
- Identify process improvements that enhance data integrity and workflow efficiency.
- Operate daily across Excel and various legal software with accuracy and advanced functionality.

What We’re Looking For

- Academic background. A bachelor’s degree is required; a paralegal certificate or advanced coursework in data analytics, or finance with a strong interest in the legal industry would stand out.
- Expertise. A minimum of two years of experience in legal support, data analysis, or litigation, preferably including exposure to mass torts.
- Analytical mindset. You are skilled in working with large datasets and advanced using Excel for data cleaning and evaluation.
- Research strength. You are experienced in conducting docket searches and gathering key litigation information.
- Precision and initiative. You are highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities with a proactive approach.
