The Role

As part of our Blast Crew, you’ll be on the bench delivering safe and efficient blasting every day. You’ll report to the Shift Supervisor and handle explosives in preparation for blasts.

What You’ll Do

- Dipping, priming, loading, stemming, and tie-in of blast patterns
- Safe use, storage, security, transport, and handling of explosives
- Operating ancillary equipment such as stemming loaders
- Working collaboratively with the crew to achieve daily targets

What You’ll Need

Must-haves:

- Right to work in Australia
- Previous Blast Crew experience in an open cut mining environment
- Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
- QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
- Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol and background checks

Nice to have:

- Statement of Attainments for explosive handling or relevant RIIs e.g. RIIBLA201E – Support Shotfiring Operations
- Heavy Rigid (or greater) driver licence
