Overview
As a Staff Engineer in Platform Engineering, you’ll be a subject matter expert and technical leader, guiding up to five Architects and Engineers while shaping the strategic vision for platform engineering across the enterprise in Australia and Singapore. You’ll drive the development and implementation of platform strategies, champion best engineering practices, and ensure solutions align with business objectives and quarterly goals. This role is hands-on and people-focused, balancing technical leadership with mentoring, recruitment, and performance management. You’ll foster a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and innovation, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and future-ready platform solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Guide and support chapter members across Agile Teams and Squads.
- Define and govern architecture strategy, policies, and roadmaps.
- Lead platform innovation and drive adoption of best practices.
- Mentor engineers, resolve technical queries, and foster a collaborative workplace.
- Oversee recruitment, performance reviews, and career development.
- Ensure compliance, engagement, and knowledge sharing within the chapter.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on contribution as a Squad member.
- Collaborate with leadership to define and track strategy, goals, and OKRs.
What You Bring
- Deep expertise in platform engineering, architecture, and cloud technologies.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills in Agile environments.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with modern data platforms, AI/ML, and data governance.
- Advanced knowledge of DevOps, security, and risk management practices.
- Hands-on experience with Google AI services, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented, and a champion for continuous improvement.
