The Purpose:
The purpose of Senior Technical Analyst role is to lead and support the New Payments Platform Technology team in delivering robust and scalable technology solutions. This role is responsible for analysing and shaping complex business and technical challenges, defining and managing requirements, and assessing solution feasibility to drive strategic outcomes. It provides oversight across the deployment and management of IT infrastructure and release processes, ensuring quality, stability, and alignment with business objectives. A key focus of the role is to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, influence decision‑making, and drive continuous improvement to deliver sustained business value in a dynamic payments environment.
The core accountabilities of the role will include:
- Lead the analysis of complex business and technical environments, identifying root causes, risks, and opportunities, and shaping strategic recommendations that deliver measurable business value.
- Drive the evaluation and selection of business change initiatives, assessing technical, financial, and strategic feasibility to inform investment and delivery decisions.
- Own the definition, management, and prioritisation of requirements across the delivery lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals, traceability, and governance standards.
- Oversee the design, provisioning, and optimisation of IT infrastructure services, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability in a high‑availability payments environment.
- Direct and coordinate release planning and execution, managing dependencies, risks, and compliance to deliver stable and secure platform updates.
- Ensure end‑to‑end integrity of the release lifecycle, embedding quality assurance, security, and compliance controls, and communicating outcomes effectively to senior stakeholders.
- Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies, building strong, trusted relationships that influence outcomes and support successful solution delivery.
- Leverage feedback and performance insights from stakeholders and customers to drive continuous improvement in service delivery and engagement effectiveness.
- Champion collaboration and continuous improvement, contributing to the evolution of standards, practices, and frameworks that enhance operational excellence and innovation.
The capabilities needed to be successful for this role are:
- Expertise in analysing complex business and technical ecosystems, identifying interdependencies, defining strategic requirements, and shaping innovative, feasible solutions that drive organisational outcomes.
- Advanced capability in end‑to‑end requirements management, applying structured methodologies to elicit, document, validate, and govern requirements across multi‑stream initiatives.
- Proficient in translating strategic business objectives into technical architectures and solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and long‑term technology roadmaps.
- In‑depth understanding of payments systems, platforms, and integration frameworks, with the ability to bridge business priorities and technical execution in complex regulatory environments.
- Ability to apply user experience and design‑thinking principles to enhance system usability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Strong command of change control, configuration management, and release governance, ensuring technology solutions are delivered securely, reliably, and in compliance with organisational standards.
- Highly effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions, manage competing priorities, and align diverse perspectives across business and technology domains.
- Comprehensive understanding of operational processes, governance, and continuous improvement frameworks, enabling proactive risk management and sustainable service delivery.
