The Opportunity

Fountain Court is nestled in the heart of Burwood, just 18 kilometers east of Melbourne's CBD. It is a haven surrounded by beautiful gardens, where a vibrant community thrives amidst tranquil surroundings. As our Maintenance Gardener, you will be responsible for daily maintenance, upkeep, and gardening tasks around our retirement village. Working closely with the Community Manager and team members, you will ensure the village remains well-maintained and presentable. This role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work, a mix of light repairs, gardening, and working in a small team.

This opportunity is permanent part-time, working Wednesday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm.

You will

- Attend to various maintenance requests around the village, including basic domestic repairs
- Maintain all village gardens, including weeding, mowing, hedging, pruning, mulching, and green waste removal
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as high-pressure cleaning, smoke alarm checks, and waste management
- Use our system app to log, track, and record job progress
- Assist with setting up for functions and driving our minibus
- Be a friendly face to residents and work alongside a fantastic team

What you'll bring

- Skills in domestic repairs and gardening tasks (e.g., using tools, painting, mowing)
- A genuine interest in learning new skills, outdoor work, and engaging with residents
- Valid driver's license
- Current Police Check (we can assist if you do not have one)
