Overview

This role as an Occupational Therapist Assistant at Emerald Place Clinic provides the opportunity to work with young people aged 13 to 18 with a range of mental health needs. The successful candidate will assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses and the multidisciplinary team in delivering structured activities and interventions to support the service users/' recovery and empowerment.

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and have access to training and development opportunities.

Join Emerald Place Clinic as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and change the lives of people aged 13 up to 18 with a range of mental health needs.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assisting in the planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapport with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As an Occupational Therapist Assistant you will need:

- To assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
- To work 37.5 hours over a 4-day working shift pattern.
- To support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
- To maintain adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
- Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
- Verbal and written communication skills

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Elysium Healthcare have worked in partnership to provide a new purpose-built inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Surrey. Emerald Place Clinic is a 12-bed general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18 who require inpatient care for the assessment and/or treatment of a range of Mental Health difficulties.
