Overview

Senior Consultant – Integrity and Ethics, East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS), will lead investigations, provide expert advice, and drive governance initiatives to promote ethical conduct and integrity across EMHS. The role involves complex disciplinary investigations, governance reporting, and strategic risk management in a public sector environment. As a PID Officer, the role supports transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

- Lead complex disciplinary investigations and medicine discrepancy inquiries in compliance with relevant legislation.
- Assess misconduct matters, prepare statutory notifications, maintain centralised conduct records, and analyse trends to identify systemic integrity issues.
- liaise with external agencies, prepare high-level reports, and support workforce risk management and compliance across EMHS.
- Provide strategic advice on integrity and ethical governance; ensure quality assurance in reporting and conduct processes.
- Educate stakeholders on misconduct prevention and incident management; contribute to policy development and integrity-focused projects.
- Promote ethical behaviour across EMHS and foster a culture of transparency and accountability as a Public Interest Disclosure (PID) Officer.

About You

- Substantial experience conducting complex, sensitive disciplinary investigations within government or regulated organisations.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear, logical reports and briefings.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple priorities independently or in a small team.
- Solid understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks governing integrity and probity in the public sector; commitment to ethical conduct.
- Desirable qualifications include a Certificate IV in Administrative Investigations, health sector experience, and a commitment to Equal Opportunity principles.
